Dr Kokh served as Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State Property Committee in the 1990s, working closely with Anatoliy Chubais. In the early years of the Putin presidency, he worked as head of Gazprom Media and then as election coordinator for the Union of Right Forces. His publications include The Selling of the Soviet Empire and A Crate of Vodka.
