The Center for Security Studies (CSS -www.css.ethz.

ch)at ETH Zurich (the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) is seeking to employ, at the next possible opportunity, a

Postdoctoral Researcher (80-100%)

to conduct research on Russian/Eurasian foreign policy and security issues, particularly with (though not limited to) a strong emphasis on questions of energy security.

Area of responsibility:

You will contribute to the Center’s research focus on Russian/Eurasian foreign policy and security issues. Responsibilities will include publishing peer-reviewed articles, collaborating on conferences and edited volumes, and contributing to the Center’s monthly policy briefs and various online services dedicated to information about Russia and Eurasian security. In particular, the person in this position will contribute to the publication of the Russian Analytical Digest (http://www.res.ethz.ch/analysis/rad/) and a newly launched publication the Caucasus Analytical Digest (http://www.res.ethz.ch/analysis/cad/) and maintain contacts with international partner institutes working with the Center through the Russian and Eurasian Security (RES) Partner Network.

Requirements :

• PhD in political science/international relations;

• Demonstrated expertise in the field of security studies;

• Publications on Russian/Eurasian foreign policy and security issues;

• Excellent analytical skills;

• Excellent written and spoken English language skills; German a plus.

• Organizational skills.
